You may consider the durability and non-porous qualities of floor resin options or the shiny look of a urethane concrete floor, but what will the floors look like several months from now? Rubber flooring is not the right option for industrial flooring applications for a number of reasons, even though they offer slip-proof safety for your employees. Tile floors can look stylish, but they can be high maintenance and get slick when wet. Is there an option in industrial flooring that offers everything commercial operations need?

Language is no problem when color-coded floor markings make the job as simple as matching colors. Mistakes are all too easy to make but language problems compound them. Now that we know how to get colored epoxy floor coatings down to stay why not take advantage of them. Color coding pallet positions to correspond to color-coded conveyer belts is one way. Items coming off the yellow conveyer go to pallets on the yellow positions. Blue conveyer items go to blue conveyer pallet positions. Or you can mark red spaces for fire equipment and hose outlets, blue markings for water lines, and white markings for electrical panels and outlets. Why not a yellow path for traffic lanes rather than small taped lines. Follow the yellow brick road worked for Dorothy and it can work for you.

During application of a second or third layer of floor coating, you can use blue tape to mark out your floor pattern. Next choose from over 20 colors to help keep things on track and improve morale. A personally customized floor is easily created by combining a choice of colors, colored chips and even glitter options.

Other looks available include granite, tile, and slate. Logos, stripes and "yellow brick roads" are sometimes added to the floors of printers, manufacturer's, restaurants, "collector cars" garages, basements, and even food processing plants. The finish can be gloss, flat, or satin. Additionally, the floors may be skid-resistant, like emery paper, yet still easy to sweep or squeegee.

One of the popular floor coating being used today is the epoxy coating. Epoxy floor coating has the known purpose to improve the durability of the concrete floor. It also protects the floor from chemical spills and makes it slip-free. This is why it is popular among warehouses and factories where chemicals and heavy foot traffic is present. It is also inexpensive, and this reason makes it a great option for homeowners, too.

Another commonly used floor coating is acid stain. This coating is more popular for the decorative look it gives the floor rather than for adding strength and cover for the floor. Applying it on your own could be difficult because of the varying colors of the stain. It is recommended that a professional help with the coating to bring about perfect results.

Epoxy flooring goes on at the job site and requires no seams. With no breaks in the surface, the floor coating becomes a continuous membrane that seals what is above from what is below. Mold, mildew, and other contaminants cannot penetrate the epoxy membrane and wash off easily.
